The Bronx is the northernmost of New York City’s five boroughs. It is the only one located on the mainland, between the Hudson River, the East River, and Long Island Sound. Its northern boundary abuts Westchester County. Travelers on highways headed southbound across this boundary see one of several different designs of signs welcoming them to the Bronx, as well as New York City as a whole. This style of sign is one of the oldest, and can still be seen in use along Interstate 87 (the Major Deegan Expressway).

Our Welcome to New York City, Entering the Bronx sign was made using photos of the Major Deegan Expressway sign as reference. We’ve painstakingly recreated every detail of the original to create a precise replica, including the Series D Modified typeface no longer used for new signage in the United States. It makes a great gift for anyone with ties to the Bronx, and is an excellent addition to the decor of any room in the house!

Our Entering the Bronx sign is flat printed in the United States on solid 14-gauge steel. It has a high-gloss, non-retroreflective finish that is durable enough to withstand even the harshest New York winter. Mounting holes are included to make installation easy.
