Description
The Chesapeake Country National Scenic Byway is a series of highways on the Delmarva Peninsula, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. Stretching from Stevensville to Chesapeake City, the Byway allows motorists to immerse themselves in the culture and history of the Delmarva Peninsula. Along the Byway, travelers can see historic towns with colonial architecture, waterfowl and migrating birds, and scenic ocean views. They can also delve into the peninsula’s heritage as a producer of both crops and seafood; here, fish, crabs, and oysters are all caught and brought ashore to the area’s many ports.
On June 13, 2002, the Federal Highway Administration designated the Chesapeake Country Scenic Byway as a National Scenic Byway. It was the first highway in Maryland, and one of only 150 in the country, to receive this designation.
Signs identifying the Chesapeake Country National Scenic Byway, featuring a goose in front of a backdrop of farm buildings, appear along the route. We’ve made our interpretation of these unique signs available to add your home’s decor. Recall the beautiful seaside vistas and the historic towns of the Eastern Shore no matter how near or far you live from the region.
Our Chesapeake Country National Scenic Byway marker is flat printed on heavy steel. Inside or outside, you’ll be able to enjoy this beautiful non-reflective sign. We have made it available in five different sizes, from 14 × 10 inches all the way up to a massive 63 × 45 inches. Every size includes mounting holes for your convenience.
