Description
Brown Material Road is a small local road in Kern County, California, west of Lost Hills. Despite being only about five miles long, the road has attracted an outsize amount of attention, thanks to its unusual name. The road was named after Brown Material Supply Company, an oilfield supply business that was once located near the north end of the road. (For some photos of the road and more information about its history, check out GribbleNation’s Brown Material Road blog post.)
We’ve recreated one of the signs pointing to Brown Material Road, for your enjoyment at home. This one is located along State Route 33, at the road’s southwest end. We’ve reproduced this sign from photos of the sign in the field, making sure every detail is just like the original. The location of this sign is well known to local law enforcement, who wouldn’t be happy if it went missing. Get the sign you want without chancing legal trouble with our faithful replica.
Our signs are printed on solid 14-gauge steel right here in the USA. It has a glossy, non-reflective coating that allows it to be installed indoors or outdoors. Pick the size you want, from 21 in. × 7 in. all the way up to a massive 81 in. × 27 in. We’ve included two pre-drilled mounting holes for convenient installation. (We have hundreds of California signs in our design library, but we can always use more! If you want something we don’t have, we’ll be happy to make it up for you.
