Description

The Florida Keys are linked to each other and the mainland by the Overseas Highway, also known as US Route 1. The Florida Keys Visitor’s Center in Key Largo has posted a unique sign welcoming visitors to the islands on their front porch. This sign shows a map of south Florida, along with the route of the Overseas Highway, along with a sailfish and the text “entering the Florida Keys”. The US-1 marker reflects Florida’s practice of marking each of their US routes in distinct colors prior to the 1990s (all US-1 markers were red).

We’ve recreated Key Largo’s Entering the Florida Keys sign for you to enjoy at home. Our replica has been painstakingly created from photos of the original sign. Every detail of the artwork, including the fonts used, is a precise duplicate of the original sign. As far as we know, there is exactly one copy of this sign standing in real life, and it’s affixed to the front of the Florida Keys Visitor’s Center. Heck, it might be painted directly onto the building. Either way, it is not going anywhere without anyone noticing. Our replica allows you to bring this unique piece of the islands home with you. Enjoy it in your garage, bar, man cave, or anywhere else needing a dollop of Florida flavor!

Our Entering the Florida Keys sign is printed on heavy 14-gauge steel. It has a glossy, non-reflective finish perfect for indoor display. It’s also weatherproof enough to withstand the elements for years to come. Choose from sizes from 16 in. × 8 in., all the way up to 72 in. × 36 in. As with all signs we sell, two convenient mounting holes have been included. (Looking for this sign in a size not shown here? Or perhaps a different sign, from Florida or another state? We can help!
