Description
Route 112 is a 56-mile-long (91 km) highway stretching nearly all the way across central New Hampshire. The most well-known portion of this road is that between I-93 in Lincoln and Highway 16/113 in Conway. This section is called the Kancamagus Highway (pronounced: cain-ka-MAW-gus). The highway was named after Kancamagus, the last sagamore of the local Pennacook people. Much of “The Kanc” passes through the White Mountain National Forest. Long sections of the route have no services (other than campgrounds), and no private businesses, either.
What the Kancamagus Highway does have, though, is excellent views. The route is especially noted as an autumn destination; leaf peepers from all over seek it out for its top-tier fall foliage. So well known is the Kanc’s natural beauty that the Federal Highway Administration has designated it a National Scenic Byway. Only 150 roads in the whole country carry this honor.
Relive your journeys along this famous highway with one of our replica New Hampshire Route 112 highway markers. We’ve recreated three different styles of sign that have stood along the route from the 1970s to now: the plain white square, the first version of the Old Man of the Mountain design with the white background, and the present-day variant with the black background. We’ve made all three of them according to the actual standards used by the New Hampshire government, so they’ll look just like the real thing!
Our New Hampshire Route 112 signs are flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel right here in the USA. The non-reflective, glossy coating ensures that they’ll stay in tip-top shape for years to come, even when subjected to a cold New Hampshire winter. All styles come in four sizes: the standard 24-inch-square and 36-inch-square versions you’ll find out on the road, and our scaled-down 12-inch and 16-inch versions. All of them contain convenient mounting holes to make installation easy.
We would love to make you a sign like this for your favorite highway, whether it’s in New Hampshire or elsewhere! And we can make just about any type of sign, too. Freeway signs, city limit signs, state line signs, you name it! Contact Jake to place your custom order today!
