Description
The Hells Canyon Scenic Byway is a loop route off of Interstate 84 in Oregon, near Baker City and La Grande. Composed of Oregon routes 82 and 86, and Wallowa-Whitman National Forest route 39, the route encircles northeastern Oregon’s Wallowa Mountains. Its easternmost reaches provide access to Hells Canyon, a massive gorge along the Snake River, forming the border between Oregon and Idaho. The canyon is over a mile deep, deeper than the Grand Canyon. In recognition of this route’s rugged beauty, the Federal Highway Administration has designated it an All-American Road. This exclusive list of America’s most scenic highways currently recognizes just 31 routes nationwide.
Relive your travels along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway with our replica of this distinctive route sign. It shows an artistic rendition of Hells Canyon and the Snake River. This image is displayed on the five-sided panel common to all Oregon Scenic Byways. We’ve accurately duplicated every element of the design from photos taken of signs posted in the field. Even the most seasoned collector will be hard-pressed to tell this one apart from the original! It makes a wonderful addition to any bar, garage, cabin, or any room needing a touch of flavor from the American West.
Our Hells Canyon Scenic Byway sign is flat printed on durable 14-gauge steel that is suitable for indoor or outdoor display. Its glossy, non-reflective finish blends in effortlessly with other, non-highway-sign decor. Choose between four sizes, from 8 in. × 16 in. all the way up to 24 in. × 48 in. All four sizes include two convenient mounting holes. (Need a sign from a different scenic byway, either in Oregon or elsewhere? We’re always happy to put together a new design for a customer!
