Description
Kisatchie National Forest is Louisiana’s only National Forest. It is made up of several discontiguous tracts of land scattered around central and northern Louisiana. The five largest of these are west, north, and south of Alexandria. A few smaller areas are located northeast of Shreveport. Kisatchie is known for its excellent hunting and fishing opportunities. It is also home to four off-highway vehicle trails for those wishing to explore the wilderness on an ATV. Additionally, many bald eagles nest near Kincaid Lake. For all these reasons and more, Kisatchie National Forest is a true Southern treasure.
Celebrate the history and beauty of Kisatchie National Forest with this replica of an early 20th-century District Ranger sign. In the early days of the Forest Service, signs like this one marked ranger stations and vehicles. Our faithful recreation follows U.S. Forest Service standards used from about 1915 to 1923. From the distinctive USFS shield shape and evergreen tree emblem to the serif “US” letters, this sign embodies a proud piece of American forestry history.
Each Kisatchie National Forest District Ranger sign is printed on heavy-duty 14-gauge steel. It’s finished with a glossy, non-reflective coating resembling the porcelain enamel of the originals. Built to withstand the elements, this sign is perfect for both outdoor display and indoor decor. Pre-drilled mounting holes are included for quick and secure installation.
Available in two sizes:
- 18 in. × 20 in. – a full-size replica of the original
- 10.8 in. × 12 in. – a scaled-down version for easier display
