Description
South Bend is a city in north-central Indiana, the fourth-largest city in Indiana, with over 103,000 residents. It is best known for being the home of the University of Notre Dame. The city is named after a bend in the St. Joseph River, upon which much of the city’s early development depended. The river allowed for the establishment of heavy industry in South Bend, most famously the manufacturing of Studebaker automobiles, Oliver farm equipment, and later the Humvee military vehicle. South Bend has since transitioned from manufacturing to other industries, including financial services, healthcare, education, and tourism. The Indiana Toll Road (Interstates 80 and 90) connects South Bend to Chicago to the west and Toledo to the east.
Our Indiana Toll Road Exit 77 sign is based on the sign at the exit to Business US Route 31 and State Road 933 on the north side of South Bend. It follows all state and federal standard for freeway exit signs. Every detail is just like official signs you’d find on the highway, including the layout, fonts used, and even the exact shape of the arrow. It’s the closest thing you can get to the real deal without having to wrangle the 16-foot-wide original sign!
Our Indiana Toll Road Exit 77 for South Bend and Notre Dame is made in the USA out of heavy 14-gauge American steel. Its glossy, non-retroreflective finish makes it a great home decor piece. The finish also protects it from the elements, making it a durable, long-lasting conversation piece outdoors too. To make installation easy, pre-drilled mounting holes are included. We’ve scaled the sign down to the following convenient sizes:
- 12 in. × 12 in.
- 16 in. × 16 in.
- 24 in. × 24 in.
- 36 in. × 36 in.
We can make any freeway exit sign, anywhere in the world! We also make route markers (Interstate, US, state, and county), mileage signs, welcome signs, and more. If you can’t find it on our site, no problem—contact us today to place a custom order!
