Trinidad, California is a small town along the coast of Humboldt County. It has always been roughly the same size it is today, with the population peaking at 379 in 1980 and slightly declining to 307 as of 2020. The town is home to Trinidad Head, a rocky peninsula along the shore protected by the historic Trinidad Head Lighthouse. Visitors to the town can enjoy its beaches, as well as Sue-meg State Park (formerly Patrick’s Point State Park) and the coastal redwoods native to the area.
Our Trinidad city limit sign is an exact replica of the sign that was posted by the California State Automobile Association in 1929. For the first half of the 20th century, the government of California did not make its own highway signs, instead relying on private auto clubs like CSAA to do the job. Our faithful recreation of this classic sign features a high-gloss finish very similar to that of the porcelain enamel of the signs of the era. Every detail, from the fonts to the CSAA logo at the bottom of the sign, has been painstakingly recreated using photos of the original. It’s as close as you can get to a century-old sign, but without spending an arm and a leg on the collector’s market!
Our Trinidad city limit sign is a flat-printed on heavy 14-gauge steel in the USA. Like the original, it is a non-reflective sign that can easily withstand the elements for years to come. Mounting holes are included for easy installation. Pick the size that works best for your display needs:
