Description
Originally, the state of California did not post its own road signs. In Southern California, that was the responsibility of the Auto Club of Southern California (ACSC). One of the many signs they posted was located 12 miles from Goffs. This sign was likely posted along Lanfair Road north of town, which later became part of US-66. It pointed the way to Vontrigger Springs, Goffs, and Needles. It also lists the mileages to each of the three destinations, with the ACSC logo appearing at the bottom of the sign.
The whereabouts of the original of this sign are unknown; it probably no longer exists. That’s why we’ve brought it back to life for your enjoyment. Our replica is made to the exact standards ACSC used circa 1920. We’ve recreated every detail according to the original specs, including the fonts and the layout.
Our replica is flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel. Its glossy, non-reflective finish closely resembles the porcelain of the original. It is sturdy enough to stand up to the elements outdoors, but also looks great indoors. We’ve made it available in sizes of 12 inches square and 16 inches square.
