Description
Georgia 400 is one of the most important highways in Atlanta’s transportation system. There are sections of it that, every day, carry an average of 195,000 vehicles! It links the city to its northern suburbs, including Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Roswell. Georgia 400 is a freeway extending northward from Atlanta for 37 miles, then continues onward as a regular highway to near Dahlonega, 53 miles north of its beginning. A portion of the road was funded by bonds that were paid for by tolls, which were collected for 20 years, ending in late 2013. Besides being a vital part of the Atlanta highway system, Georgia 400 has been used for filming, as well. It was used as the backdrop for several scenes in Smokey and the Bandit, including in a police chase scene that, in the film, took place in Alabama.
Our Georgia 400 sign is an exact replica of the signs installed along the highway. It follows the exact state standards that have been used for Georgia highways since 1964. Show your Atlanta pride by adding it to your office, garage, bar, man cave, or any other place!
Our Georgia 400 sign is flat printed on heavy-gauge steel. It is non-reflective, making it an ideal home decor item. It also has a glossy finish that will allow it to serve for years when installed outdoors as well. Pre-drilled mounting holes make installation simple. Choose from the following sizes:
- 12 in. × 12 in. (perfect for those short on space or budget)
- 16 in. × 16 in. (the size used for older signs)
- 24 in. × 24 in. (the modern-day size, installed along the side road approaches to the highway)
- 36 in. × 36 in. (the size installed along the freeway itself)
