Description
Nevada State Route 431, also known as the Mt. Rose Highway, is the northernmost of the three highway connections between Lake Tahoe and the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is slightly less than 25 miles long, connecting Reno with Incline Village. It begins at an intersection with US 395 Alternate (the old route of US 395 through the Reno area), and is a continuation of State Route 341, the Geiger Grade toward Virginia City. (You have no idea how many times this webmaster has mixed up SR 431 and SR 341.) SR 431 soon begins ascending the Carson Range, a sub-range of the Sierra, topping out at 8,911 feet at Mt. Rose Summit. This is touted by Nevada DOT as the highest summit open year-round in the Sierra. It then begins its descent toward Lake Tahoe and Incline Village. Along the route are numerous hairpin turns, and several scenic turnoffs on both sides of the summit where a traveler can stop to take in views of Lake Tahoe, Reno, and the rest of the Washoe Valley.
Our Nevada State Route 431 sign is the perfect memento of the journeys you’ve made on the Mt. Rose Highway and in the Tahoe area. It’s made according to the exact NDOT standards used along 431, from 1976 when the highway received its current number into the 2000s. (The modern route marker is very similar, but has minor differences in the state outline shape and the width of the word NEVADA.) It makes a great addition to your cabin, man cave, office, game room, bar, den, or anywhere else needing a little bit of Tahoe flavor.
Our Nevada State Route 431 marker is printed in the USA on heavy 14-gauge steel. It has a glossy, non-reflective finish that can withstand the elements of a harsh Sierra winter or a sunny Nevada summer. Convenient pre-drilled mounting holes are included for easy installation. We offer this sign in the following sizes:
- 12 in. × 12 in. (our most economical size)
- 16 in. × 16 in.
- 24 in. × 24 in. (the size of most of the markers found along the highway)
- 36 in. × 36 in. (the size of “oversize” markers used in certain high-visibility situations)
We can make a route marker like this for any highway in Nevada, from 28 to 895! Want the equivalent state route marker from another state, or an Interstate or U.S. route sign? We can do that too! And of course, we can also make just about any other road sign too, be it a welcome sign, warning sign, directional sign, or anything else.
