Description

Exit 98 from the Garden State Parkway is a somewhat complex interchange in Wall Township, New Jersey. Its complexity stems from its location near where two other freeways cross. Going southbound, the turnpike exit splits into three ramps: one going to eastbound Route 138 toward Belmar, then one going in each direction on Route 34. To go west toward Trenton, the state capital, one must take the ramp for Route 34 north. Route 34 then provides access to a cloverleaf interchange providing access to both directions of the east-west freeway. This interchange is the point at which westbound Route 138 ends and westbound Interstate 195 begins. Going northbound, the interchange is somewhat simpler, as there are only two ramps, one for each direction of Route 138. To access Route 34, a driver takes the loop ramp for westbound Route 138, and then exits from there onto Route 34 at the cloverleaf interchange.

Our Garden State Parkway Exit 98 sign is based on the southbound exit sign. We’ve modified it slightly to put the route numbers in the order specified by federal standards. Otherwise, everything is just like the original sign found in Wall Township, New Jersey. The layout is exactly the same, down to the correct federal highway sign fonts used for “Belmar” and “Trenton”.
