Description
State Highway 1 is the most important highway in New Zealand. It runs the length of both of the country’s main islands, 1,081 km (672 mi) on the North Island, and 952 km (592 mi) on the South Island. It links several of New Zealand’s most important cities, connecting Auckland to Wellington on the North Island and Christchurch to Invercargill on the South Island. State Highway 1 takes on a wide range of forms along its route, from a narrow chipseal road to a busy freeway carrying 200,000 vehicles a day.
Our New Zealand State Highway 1 sign is a precise replica of those that have been used along the route since 1960, when the state highway system was first devised. Every detail, from the shape of the shield to the font used for the number 1, is just like the original. It makes a great way to relive your travels through New Zealand!
Our New Zealand State Highway 1 sign is printed on heavy steel in the United States. Its glossy, non-reflective finish makes it a great addition to your home’s decor. It also protects it against the elements, meaning you can install it outside too. We’ve included pre-drilled mounting holes to make installation easy. Choose from the following sizes:
- 12 in. × 12 in.
- 16 in. × 16 in.
- 24 in. × 24 in.
- 36 in. × 36 in.
