Oklahoma starburst state line sign

Description

From 1957 to the 1970s, Oklahoma used a unique state line sign that featured a seven-pointed, multi-colored starburst. The starburst was so big it extended past the boundaries of the rectangle making up most of the sign. The sign’s shape was contoured to follow the starburst’s rays, making this probably one of the pointiest state line signs ever used in the history of the United States. (That may have been why it fell out of use—it certainly wouldn’t be fun to accidentally run off the Interstate and crash into something like this!)

Our Oklahoma starburst state line sign is a scaled-down version of the signs that once stood along Oklahoma’s highways. The originals were very large in order to make them easily visible from the road. This large size meant that when they were replaced, they would inevitably be sold for scrap. As a result, none exist on the collector’s market today. With our replica, you can bring this historic design back to life in the form of a fantastic display piece. It makes a colorful addition to any room’s decor!

Our Oklahoma starburst state line sign is flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel, right here in the USA. It is non-reflective, with a glossy finish that allows it to withstand the elements when installed outdoors. To ensure easy installation, pre-drilled mounting holes have been included in the design.
