Description

The Texas Brazos Trail is part of the Texas Legacy Trails system, which is comprised of ten scenic byways across the state. The then-Governor of Texas, John Connally, and the Texas Highway Department set up these routes in 1968, hoping to increase tourism in the state. Each trail was made of various state highways forming a loop around different parts of Texas. The Texas Historical Commission split the state into ten tourism districts in 1998, each anchored by one of the trails. The hope was to induce new travelers to check out the historical and cultural destinations each district had to offer, thereby causing more tourism dollars to be spent in Texas’s smaller towns.

The Texas Brazos Trail loops through Central Texas, passing through Waco, College Station, Taylor, Belton, and Gatesville. Along the route, the Texas Department of Transportation has installed distinctive blue and white signs with the image of a cotton boll, a crop historically important to the region. We’ve made our replica of these signs using the exact blueprints TxDOT and the Historical Commission used when creating the original signs. On our signs, you’ll see the same cotton boll drawing, fonts, and layout as on the signs out on the road. Display this sign anywhere you like, without drawing suspicion from the Texas Rangers, with our faithful replica!

Our Texas Brazos Trail sign is flat printed on sturdy 14-gauge steel. It has glossy, non-reflective finish that allows it to serve as an excellent indoor display piece, while also holding up well for years when installed outdoors. To make installation easier, we’ve included mounting holes as well.
