Description
Truckee, California is a town high up in the Sierra Nevada mountains, just west of the Nevada border. Originally established as a mining town in the late 1860s, Truckee is now primarily a getaway spot. Skiing and snowboarding are both popular in the winter, and the Truckee River is a great place for kayaking and rafting. Also, Lake Tahoe is not too far away. The town also has numerous restaurants and breweries to help visitors unwind after a long day of outdoor adventures.
Our replica Truckee city limit sign is made to the exact standards used by the California Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, from 1947 to 1956. Under the town name is the population, 1025 people, and the elevation, 5,820 feet. The logo of the Division of Highways appears at the bottom center of the sign. Our replica is just like the real thing; it uses the standard road sign fonts and every element is placed exactly where it would be on the original.
Our Truckee city limit sign is flat printed on sturdy 14-gauge steel. Its glossy, non-reflective finish is a near-perfect replica of that of the old porcelain signs used in the first half of the 20th century in California. Our sign is durable enough to withstand the elements, while still making a great addition to any room of the house. The original of this was 36 inches long and 18 inches tall, but we’ve made it available in a range of sizes to meet your needs. Choose from a sign as small as 14 in. × 7 in. all the way up to our 72 × 36 in. size, to really make a statement. Whichever you pick, there’ll be a set of mounting holes to make installation easy and convenient. (You can get a sign like this for any city or town, in California or elsewhere! We can also make a custom size, just for you! Just contact Jake to place a custom order.)
