Description
Since the National Park Service gets its funding from the Department of the Interior rather than the Department of Transportation, does not have to follow the same national standards for road signs that actual transportation agencies do. Instead, NPS has its own style, which uses brown signs with white text for all purposes. Most distinctively, for many years the Park Service signs used Clarendon, a serif font very different from the standard FHWA Series fonts found on all other American signs.
One example of a sign made to NPS standards is this sign, which features the word PARKWAY in Clarendon with a directional arrow. The original this sign is based on stands in North Carolina, pointing the way to the Blue Ridge Parkway. However, it could be used to represent most any parkway maintained by the Park Service. This sign makes a great gift for fans of such parkways, as well as a great accent piece in any cabin, garage, man cave, bar, or any other place needing a dash of adventure!
Our Parkway sign is flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel. It’s non-reflective, with a glossy finish that will serve you well, either indoors or outdoors. We offer it in the following sizes:
- 20 in. × 6 in.
- 30 in. × 9 in.
- 40 in. × 12 in.
- 80 in. × 24 in. (This one is so large, it is split across three panels for easier manufacturing and shipping!)
All four versions come with convenient mounting holes for easy installation.
