Description
State Route 26 is a highway in central California. The highway connects the city of Stockton to the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains. While the lower reaches of the highway in San Joaquin County run through farmland typical of the Central Valley, the highway takes more of a mountainous character east of the town of Mokelumne Hill. Toward the east end of the highway, tight curves and switchbacks are common. Altogether, the highway gains about 2600 feet (800 m) in elevation along its 66-mile (106-km) course.
Our California State Route 26 sign is a striking piece of Golden State highway history! Crafted to the exact 1964 California standards—the year the iconic green miner’s spade design debuted—this sign delivers unmatched historical accuracy, right down to the correct FHWA Series fonts and faithfully reproduced details of the sign shape.
