Description
Treasure Island is an island just off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida. It is home to a small but vibrant community, with beaches, bars, and restaurants the primary draw. Babe Ruth maintained a winter home on Treasure Island after he retired. Since the 1960s or 1970s, an eye-catching sign has welcomed visitors to the island. It depicts a pirate in traditional garb, next to a scroll bearing the message “Welcome to Treasure Island, Florida”. At his feet is a treasure chest, chock-full of Florida oranges.
The original Welcome to Treasure Island sign is a very well-known landmark, and the pirates in the area would get really testy if it vanished. That’s why we’ve painstakingly recreated it for your enjoyment. Every detail of the pirate’s face and clothing, the scroll, and the text used has been precisely duplicated from photos of the original. With our replica of this sign, you can add a bit of pirate flair to your garage, den, or anywhere else, without the risk of keelhauling.
Our Welcome to Treasure Island sign is flat-printed on 14-gauge steel. It is non-reflective, with a glossy finish that’s durable enough to withstand the elements outdoors while still looking great indoors. We offer it in three sizes: 12 in. × 10⅓ in., 18 in. × 16 in., and 36 in. × 32 in. All three include two mounting holes for your convenience.
We can customize this sign any way you like! Want to make a welcome sign for your child’s room? Or any other destination? Perhaps you just want it in a size not listed here? Just contact Jake to get started on your custom order.
