The Peaks to Craters Scenic Byway is located in Idaho’s Blaine, Butte, and Custer counties. It begins at Idaho State Highway 75, following US Route 20 east to Carey, where it joins up with US 26 and US 93. The byway then follows the three US highways to Arco, where US 93 splits off to the north. Next, the Peaks to Craters byway follows US 93 north to meet up with SH 75 again just south of Challis. Along the way, the byway presents travelers with incredible views of the Lost River Valley, Mt. Borah, the highest peak in Idaho, and Craters of the Moon National Monument, an expanse of lava flows and cinder cones. Altogether, the byway covers 140 miles (225 km) of Central Idaho.
