Description
Indianapolis is Indiana’s capital and largest city. Over two million people live in its metropolitan area. It’s located in the center of the state, and is where three Interstate highways cross: 65, 69, and 70. The Indianapolis area is well-known as the location of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which hosts the Indy 500 auto race, the world’s largest single-day sporting event. Indianapolis’s welcome sign prominently includes the city flag next to the text “Indianapolis Welcomes You”. The flag is a greatly-simplified map of the city. The red circle in the center represents the Monument Circle area. The lines radiating outward from it represent the north-south Meridian Street and the east-west Market Street.
Our Indianapolis Welcomes You sign is a faithful replica of those you’ll see as you enter the city. We’ve recreated it from photos of original the sign in the field, taking care to ensure every detail is just like the original. Signs like these don’t circulate on the collector’s market often; most of them that have ever been created are still posted along central Indiana’s highways. Our replica lets you get the sign you want without chancing a run-in with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police (who take a very dim view of collectors appropriating the signs).
Our Indianapolis Welcomes You sign is printed in the United States on solid 14-gauge steel. It’s a non-reflective sign, with a glossy, durable coating that allows it to serve you well for years, indoors or outdoors. To make installation easy, we’ve included pre-drilled mounting holes for your convenience. We make it available in the following sizes:
- 21 in. × 7 in.
- 30 in. × 10 in.
- 45 in. × 15 in.
- 81 in. × 27 in. (This version is so big, it has to be split across two panels!)
