Vine Street is one of the major north–south streets of Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. It runs from Melrose Avenue, where it continues the route of Rossmore Avenue, to Ivarene Avenue in the Hollywood Hills. Along the way, it intersects many famous Hollywood streets, including Santa Monica Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, and most famously, Hollywood Boulevard.  The intersection of Hollywood and Vine is the most celebrated intersection in Hollywood, and is the center point of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Vine Street was also the location of Hollywood’s “Radio Row”, where the studios of all of the major radio networks were located.

Our Vine Street sign is a faithful replica in the classic “shotgun” style of Los Angeles street signage installed between 1946 and 1967. The “shotgun” style signs featured the street name in large block letters, with the block number in smaller text below. The sign panel was contoured to the shape of the two lines of text to produce the distinctive “shotgun” shape. These signs were hand painted in porcelain enamel, with white text on a dark blue background.  Our Vine Street sign bears the block number 1600 N., denoting the famous Hollywood and Vine intersection.

Our Vine Street sign is flat printed on 14-gauge steel, right here in the USA. Its glossy, non-reflective finish is highly reminiscent of the original porcelain signs. The sign is just as durable, too, and will stand the test of time when installed outdoors. To make installation easy, as with all of our signs, pre-drilled mounting holes are included.
