The North Shore Scenic Drive follows Minnesota Highway 61, formerly a portion of US Route 61, north of Duluth. It runs along the northwest shore of Lake Superior, all the way to Grand Portage, just short of the Canadian border. The views the road provides of the lake and the forests of northern Minnesota are so picturesque that the Federal Highway Administration has recognized it as an All-American Road. This designation, the highest tier in America’s scenic highway system, has been granted to only 31 roads in the entire country. When traveling along the road, you’ll find it marked with unique signs depicting a typical scene along the Lake Superior shoreline.
We’ve faithfully recreated our North Shore Scenic Drive sign to be an precise replica of the original markers installed along Highway 61. Every feature is accurate to the original sign, from the details of the artwork, to the typeface used, to the layout of the sign itself. While these markers do appear on the collector’s market from time to time, there’s no guarantee there will be one available at any given time. Skip the hassle of tracking one down with our replica. It makes a great addition to any cabin, man cave, bar, garage, or anywhere else that needs a touch of Northern Minnesota charm!
Our North Shore Scenic Drive sign is flat printed in the United States on heavy 14-gauge steel. It is non-reflective, allowing it to serve as an excellent interior decoration item. It also has a durable enough finish to stand up to a harsh Minnesota winter when installed outdoors. Convenient mounting holes are included in the design to make installation easy. - 12 in. × 12 in.
