Living near the Atlantic coast can be quite pleasant, but at times very dangerous, as well. Strong storms occasionally come in off of the sea and threaten the Jersey Shore. Particularly strong tropical storms and hurricanes can even make it necessary to evacuate the coast. In preparation for these emergency situations, the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management defines Coastal Evacuation Routes for residents to get to safety. These routes are publicly posted with distinct white and blue markers.
We’ve recreated one of New Jersey’s Coastal Evacuation Route signs, according to the exact 1990s standards that introduced these signs. Every detail of these signs is just like the original: the classic road sign fonts used, the layout, the arrow, even the logo of the Office of Emergency Management. It’s an exact replica of what you’ll find on the Jersey Shore! Used Coastal Evacuation Route signs occasionally turn up on the collector’s market, but when they do they can be quite pricey. With our replica, you can get the sign you want without the uncertainty, and for a fraction of the price.
Our Coastal Evacuation Route markers are printed on heavy 14-gauge steel. They’re non-reflective and make a great addition to any home decor. While no road sign is particularly likely to survive a hurricane, ours is suitable for outdoor display under non-emergency conditions. Select from sizes ranging from 12 inches square up to 36 inches square. We’ve also included two pre-drilled mounting holes, for your convenience. (Looking for another classic New Jersey sign? We have dozens in our library, and are always adding more! We can also customize this, or any other sign in our catalog, to your exact specifications. And we, of course, have signs from all 50 states, too. Just contact Jake to get started on your custom order.)
