Crossing the whole state of New Jersey is a toll road called the Garden State Parkway. It begins in the north at the New York state line; in the south, it ends at Cape May, the southern tip of the state. In Ocean County, drivers can take Exit 82 for Route 37 East to Seaside Heights. Seaside Heights is a popular resort town on the Barnegat Peninsula, separating Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Its year-round population is only around 2,500 people, but the borough sometimes swells to up to 65,000 people in the summer months! Visitors to the area can enjoy the two-mile-long boardwalk and nearby Island Beach State Park. There are also a number of bars and clubs in the area for adult resortgoers. What Seaside Heights is best known for, though, is serving as the setting for MTV’s 2009–2012 reality show Jersey Shore.
