One of the most well-known New Orleans traditions is the annual Mardi Gras celebration. It lasts for around two weeks, with parades every day, becoming increasingly elaborate the closer it gets to Mardi Gras itself. Keeping the parade routes clear for parade participants, floats, and revelers is of utmost importance. The streets along the Mardi Gras parade routes are generally marked with signage during the celebration season, clearly identifying them so as to discourage street parking near the time of the parades.

Take a little piece of Mardi Gras home with you with one of our Mardi Gras parade route signs. We’ve recreated one of the signs used sometime in the 1950s or 1960s for your enjoyment. It shows a reveler and a jester, both wearing their Mardi Gras best, flanking the message “NO PARKING 2 HRS. BEFORE PARADE UNTIL 2 HRS. AFTER PARADE”. The New Orleans skyline and the slogan “PRIDE BUILDS NEW ORLEANS” appears at the bottom of the sign. Our replica has been made using photographs of parade signage from years gone by. Every detail is historically accurate, sizes, colors, fonts, and all!

Our Mardi Gras parade route sign is flat printed on 14-gauge steel. Its non-reflective, all-weather finish looks just as great indoors as it does outdoors. We’ve made it available in its original 12 in. × 18 in. size. We also offer it in larger 20 in. × 30 in and 30 in. × 45 in. sizes.
