Description

King’s Highway 69 is a road located in central Ontario. At its greatest extent, it began at Waubaushene and proceeded north of Sudbury, paralleling the coast of Lake Huron’s Georgian Bay. As the southern portion of the highway was upgraded to freeway, it was renumbered as Highway 400. Plans still call for the road to be upgraded to Highway 400 all the way to Sudbury. For now, though, 68 km of Highway 69 still exists in its original two-lane form, from Carling to the French River. The remaining 64 km to Highway 17 on the outskirts of Sudbury has already been upgraded to freeway standard. Highway 69 is a branch of the Trans-Canada Highway system, carrying a portion of the Georgian Bay Route.

We’ve precisely recreated the King’s Highway 69 signs that were used from 1933 until the mid-1950s, when they were replaced by a new, reflective design. Every detail of our replica is accurate to the 1933 specs: the bespoke fonts used, the layout, and the details of the King’s crown are just like the originals. Even the most seasoned collector will be impressed! You won’t be able to find signs like this along the highways of Ontario, just on the collector’s market. There, you’ll have to spend quite a lot of money to get your hands on one. Our replicas let you get the sign you want at a fraction of the price, with none of the hassle.

Our King’s Highway 69 sign is flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel. Its glossy, non-reflective coating is nearly indistinguishable from the old porcelain signs used in the early days of the automobile. Our signs are just as weatherproof as the original, too, able to hold up all through a harsh Canadian winter. To meet your unique display needs, we offer this sign in a number of sizes, from 9 in. × 14¼ in. up to 24 in. × 38 in. Each size includes two convenient mounting holes.

Need this sign customized to meet your needs? We can help! We can happily make this sign in any size you want, and with any route number you want. And we can make any other sign you want, too, whether it’s from Ontario or somewhere else. Just contact Jake to get started on your custom order!
