Description

Oxnard, California is a city on the Pacific Coast of Ventura County. It is about sixty miles west of downtown Los Angeles. Henry Oxnard, the operator of a beet sugar factory there, named the town after himself. The city is well known for its beaches, nightlife, and excellent climate. Oxnard is also known for its food. The local area produces more strawberries than anywhere else in the state, and claims to have the most tacos per capita of anywhere in the United States.

We’ve recreated the Oxnard city limit sign and made it available for your enjoyment, no matter how near or far to Oxnard you may be. It follows the precise 1959 state standards for signs of this type. Beneath the city name is the population according to the 1960 U.S. census, 40,265. (It’s over 200,000 now!) Next to that is the elevation, 52 feet above sea level. This sign makes a wonderful addition to a garage, bar, man cave, and makes a great gift for anyone with ties to Oxnard!

Our Oxnard city limit sign is flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel. Its glossy finish is non-reflective, making it perfect for indoor display, but it can withstand the elements outdoors too. We’ve made it available in six sizes, from 15 in. × 9 in. all the way up to a massive 90 in. × 54 in. Every size has two holes to make hanging it easy. (Looking for a sign like this from your city, in California or elsewhere? We’d be happy to make it for you! Just contact Jake to get started on your custom order.)
