Description

Interstate 75 may well be the most important road in the whole state of Michigan, and has been called the state’s “Main Street”. It crosses into the state’s Lower Peninsula from Ohio, south of Monroe. It then passes through southeast Michigan’s two most prominent cities, Detroit and Flint. Then it runs across the Mackinac Bridge across the Straits of Mackinac, the only bridge linking the state’s Lower and Upper peninsulas. Finally, it ends at the Canadian border in Sault Ste. Marie, 1,786 mi (2,875 km) north of the highway’s other end near Miami, Florida.

Our recreated Michigan Interstate 75 route sign is made to the exact 1957 standards used in Michigan during the early days of the Eisenhower Interstate System. Michigan’s early Interstate shields differed from those in other states for many years. This was because Michigan used its own unique interpretation of the federal highway sign fonts, which differed substantially from those seen in the other states. Shields like this have not been seen on Michigan’s highways for many years, however. Even on the collector’s market, they can be scarce. Save time tracking one down, and money bidding for it, with our faithful replica.

Our Michigan Interstate 75 route marker is printed in the United States, with pride, on heavy 14-gauge steel. It’s a non-reflective sign, with a glossy coating that looks great indoors but can also withstand the elements of a harsh Michigan winter on either peninsula. It comes in four sizes: 12 in., 18 in., 24 in., and 36 in. square. All four sizes have two convenient mounting holes to make installation simple. (We’d be happy to make any route marker, for any road, anywhere in the world! We can also make other kinds of highway signs, too! Just contact Jake to get started on your custom order.)
