Interstate 94 is one of the most important highways in the state of Michigan. It links the state’s largest city, Detroit, with Chicago to the southwest, and also to the Canadian border at Port Huron. Along the way, it passes through several of southern Michigan’s largest cities, including Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, and Battle Creek.

Our Michigan Interstate 94 route shield is made to the exact 1957 standard used in the first decade and a half or so of the Interstate System’s existence. In addition, it uses the custom font the state of Michigan used at the time, rather than the normal federally-designed fonts, which are used there today. As a result, signs of this style are getting harder and harder to find in the field.
