State Route 187 was the state of California’s designation for Venice Boulevard when it was state maintained. The route began at Lincoln Boulevard, the famous California State Route 1, and proceeded inland from there. It connected to the Interstate 405 freeway, then ran along the edge of Culver City to Interstate 10, where it ended. In 2016, the state turned over Venice Boulevard to the City of Los Angeles, and most of SR 187 ceased to be. A small section of the former route, mainly consisting of the bridge over the 10 freeway, is still on the books as part of SR 187.
