Our Jackson and Sutter Creek directional sign is a stunning replica of a sign which originally stood in Martell, along State Route 49, near the junction with SR-88. Listing two destinations which were key locations in the Sierra gold rush, it’s based on a sign from the days when private auto clubs provided signage along California’s highways. In Northern California, this responsibility was carried by the California State Automobile Association, whose diamond-shaped logo graced the bottom of each sign they made.
Our Jackson and Sutter Creek sign is made according to the exact 1936 standards CSAA used for signs of this type, complete with the custom block font which was only ever used in California during the era. Every detail has been meticulously executed to produce a sign just like the original. With sharp lines, proper proportions, and a high-gloss finish extraordinarily similar to the porcelain of the original, even the most discerning collector will want to inspect it up close.
Our Jackson and Sutter Creek sign is flat printed on heavy 14-gauge steel in the United States. It’s durable enough to withstand the elements when installed outdoors, even through the harsh winters of the Sierra. Mounting holes are included to make installation easy. Choose from the following sizes:

- 42 in. × 19 in. (the actual size of the original sign)
