California State Route 330 is one of the three main routes up the south slope of the San Bernardino Mountains. It begins at the 210 freeway in San Bernardino and climbs up the mountainside alongside City Creek, giving it the name City Creek Road. After a long, twisty ascent, it ends at State Route 18 in Running Springs. The road now known as SR 330 has only had that number since 1972. Prior to that it was part of SR 30, which once extended as far west as the San Gabriel Valley. Over time, portions of SR 30 were replaced by SR 210, so the portion in the mountains was detached from it and given its own number.
