The East LA Interchange is the busiest freeway interchange in the world. Located about 2½ miles (4 km) east of downtown Los Angeles, this massive interchange complex is where Interstate 5, Interstate 10, US 101, and State Route 60 all come together. In times past, it hosted US 60, US 70, and US 99 as well. This sign is a replica of one sign posted in those days, back when US 99 used to continue north of here to Bakersfield (and was well-known enough merited it top billing ahead of I-5!) The original sign continued to see service for a number of years after US 99 was patched over. It no longer exists, no doubt having been recycled for scrap years ago.

Our US 99, Interstate 5, Bakersfield guide sign from the East LA Interchange is made to the exact state standard used from 1959 to 1962. Every detail of this sign is just like the original! We’ve even recreated the unusual shape of the US route marker that was particular to California signage of this era. It makes a great addition to any bar, garage, man cave, or anywhere else that could use a touch of classic Angelino charm! Our US 99, Interstate 5, Bakersfield guide sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel. It is a non-reflective sign with a gloss finish comparable to that of the porcelain of the original. This sign makes a great display piece that will last for years, both inside and outdoors. The original freeway-size sign was about 10 feet wide; ours are a precise rescaling of the freeway style sign down to much more manageable sizes:

• 16 in. × 8 in.
• 24 in. × 12 in.
• 36 in. × 18 in.
• 48 in. × 24 in.
• 72 in. × 36 in. — This version is made on two panels, and will be shipped as two 36 in. × 36 in. halves, with mounting holes along the top and bottom edges to accommodate two rails for stability.
